    目前在美国和欧洲循环冷却水系统内作为主要应用的水处理剂中部含有PBTCA,例如Nalco公司的N-7354Ciba-Geigy公司的DP-3094,日本粟田公司的S-1050,片山公司的HP-1000E等。

 它具有磷酸又有羧酸基的结构特性,导致良好的缓蚀阻垢性能,与常用的有机磷酸(HEDPATMPEDTMP)相比,具有卓越的特性,同时在高温阻垢性能远远优于有机磷酸,能提高锌的溶解度,甚至在pH9.5时也能使锌处于溶解状态。

本品与锌复配后加入到冷却水中,可提高配方缓蚀性能和在碱性系统中的阻垢能力。一般投加量为515ppm,采用连续投加为宜。
